MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — Donald Trump is highlighting some of the most divisive proposals of his campaign in his first major television advertising campaign.
The real estate mogul's first ad pushes his plan to temporarily ban Muslims from entering the United States and build a wall along the southern border.
His campaign says the ad will begin running across Iowa and New Hampshire on Tuesday a few weeks before voting begins there.
Trump's plan on Muslims has been condemned by Republicans and Democrats as un-American. Yet his hard line on immigration has fueled Trump's popularity among the overwhelmingly white GOP primary electorate.
Trump has until now refrained from costly television advertising. Now, his campaign says he'll spend $2 million a week in the two leadoff states.
